The Anaheim Police Department seeks opportunities to serve and give back to the community. APD is partnering with City of Hope to host a Bone Marrow and Blood Drive. The police department is asking city employees and community members to help support the upcoming “Cops 4 A-Cure” event, which is scheduled for Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the Anaheim Central Library. Please see the attached flyer for further details.

Patients at City of Hope, most of whom are fighting cancer, rely on units of blood and platelets each year for their survival. Every one of those units comes from caring people like you who want to make a difference. The process is easy and you can usually resume everyday activities almost immediately after donating. Blood donation appointments are highly recommended, but walk-ins are always welcomed. To schedule your blood donation appointment, please visit: and enter Sponsor Code: “ANPD.” Please see the attached blood and marrow donor eligibility criteria and/or visit our webage for criteria information:

City of Hope Hospital routinely saves lives through marrow transplants. Every 3 minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer like Leukemia. A majority of patients don’t have a compatible match within their family and rely on finding an unrelated donor. You can help by joining the “Be the Match Registry.” Please see the attached bone marrow registry drive eligibility criteria or visit:

Please consider joining the Anaheim Police Department with assisting patients at City of Hope who are fighting for better health and quality of life. Donor participants will receive a BBQ lunch and entry into a raffle for great prizes. There will also be the option to purchase lunch or raffle tickets. 100% of the proceeds will go to City of Hope to help save lives.
